Tagged Under : , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Linux is a popular operating system, known as an actual techies’ operating system. The robust architecture and open source coding of the operating system insures that it can’t be affected by viruses and other malicious programs easily.

However, even the Linux is prone to situations where you may lose hard drive volumes and data. Hard drive crash is one such kind of situation that leads to significant data loss and needs Linux Hard Drive Recovery to be sorted out.

The hard drive crash is a situation where you cannot access your data from a properly configured system, however the data is still there. The hard drive may get crashed during normal computer operations, or because of external reasons, like power outages and heat. You must have an effective backup plan to save your data, but if it is not available; commercial recovery software and services are required to overcome the problem.

Linux hard drive may crash due to numerous reasons, which are broadly categorized into two major groups: Logical Failure and Physical Failure. Irrespective of the cause of hard drive crash, your data is still recoverable from Linux hard drive.

Symptoms of Linux hard drive crash

Computer is unresponsive or unbootable.

You encounter error messages, which indicates hard drive is unrecognized.

Black screen at start up.

Grinding or clicking sounds coming from hard drive.

System generally stops responding, restarts, or you cannot run any application.

Error messages related to missing or damaged data structures, like file system and Superblock.

When you encounter any of the above situations with your Linux computer, the very first thing that you need to do is determine the type of problem. Whether it is logical failure or it’s caused by breakdown of mechanical hard drive components.

In case of logical hard drive failure, you can recover lost data in a quick and easy way through Linux hard drive recovery software. The applications carry out extensive scan of whole hard drive using advanced scanning methods and extract all lost, missing, and inaccessible data from it.

Stellar Information Systems Limited is the foremost provider of both types of Linux Hard Drive Recovery solutions. The software is able to recover data from Ext4, Ext3, Ext2, FAT12, FAT16, and FAT32 file system volumes of all major Linux distributions.

Are you annoyed by the crashing of your Linux system regularly? The reason can be anything, including the infection of a deadly virus/malware, operating system malfunction, corruption/missing of data structure of your hard drive etc. Apart from these, there can be a number of reasons for which your Linux hard drive crashes almost every time, you boot the system leaving all your valuable data inaccessible. However, you need not have to ponder on how to recover back your lost/inaccessible data, just try any good Linux data recovery software and it can recover all your data for you safely.

You may encounter the below symptoms while encountering the crash of your Linux hard drive:

.Your Linux system fails to boot-up.
.You are receiving a blank or a dark screen when trying to boot your Linux system.
.The system is exceptionally slow and is taking a much longer boot time.
.You are frequently encountering the rebooting of your Linux system and hangs frequently.
.Getting an error message, such as: “No Fixed Disk Present” or “DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER”.
.On start-up receiving error message, such as: “Operating system not found” or “Drive not formatted”.
.There can be a number of possible causes, for which you are encountering the above mentioned situations of data loss or inaccessibility from your Linux system. To name a few, below are some serious and complex causes behind hard drive crash:
.Corrupted or damaged Master Boot record(MBR).
.Deletion or missing of necessary system files.
.Corruption to the superblock of the hard drive.
.Corruption to the file system of the Linux hard drive.
.Deadly boot sector virus or malware infection.
.In all the above data loss situations, first of all, you can try repairing your operating system by running the operating system CD. However, if you do not get any positive result out of it, try the ‘fsck’ command-line utility, which is meant to locate any file system based errors and fix them.

In case, you are still unable to resolve the issue, you have to format the hard-drive and make a fresh installation of the operating system. As formatting will erase all the data from the Linux hard drive, you have to restore them from a valid backup. If backup is unavailable, you have to use any Linux drive recovery utility to bring the lost/formatted data.

You can choose Stellar Phoenix Linux Data Recovery software, which has been very popular among the users for its efficiency in recovering the lost, deleted, formatted or inaccessible data from any instance of LINUX hard drive crash. Computer Service in Connecticut

Tagged Under : , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

If you are like most people, you think
computer service
is for people that have something wrong with their computers, not for a computer that is running. Computer maintenance really falls into a few different modes which Ill make an attempt to define.

Denial Mode : Problems? I don’t have any problems.

Most computer users / owners only fix a problem after it becomes a crisis for them. That is to say, your computer might be running as loud as a truck for 6 months but it only gets attention after it decides not to turn on one day. The problem that needed “fixing” has been there for 6 months and could have been eliminated in under an hour for about $50, but now, it will take more time and more money. There used to be a car repair commercial that had a tagline ” You can pay me know, or you can pay me later” and to a certain extent is true when it comes to computer repair. There are many things computers do or dont do that should alert us as users that there may be a problem than can be easily addressed now but if you wait long enough will be catastrophic tomorrow. Have you ever had a hard drive crash on you? It is one of these “OH NO” experiences because most people aren’t prepared for the options they have. When was the last backup done? Ever? Do you have the Operating System Disks that came with the computer? How many songs were there? Do you even remember how many programs you had installed and operating?

There are companies, local and national, that offer data recovery services for failed harddrives but make sure your checking account has a high balance because these places charge thousands of dollars to recover your digital pictures and music files.

Complacency Mode : I know its broken, but I dont have the time to fix it.
Really, not a lot of difference between this user and the denial user. The result will be the same ( See Panic ) The complacent user is aware that they have a problem, but believes that they just dont have the time to deal with it. The problem will fester this way until the user is forced to deal with it by graduating to the next category ..Panic Mode

Panic Mode : Ohmygod Ohmygod Ohmygod Ohmygod
This is a full failure due to a hardware problem or sometimes a software problem. It usually means that the user will have to deal with loss of use ( crippling for business users ) or loss of data ( devastating for business users ) or a combination of both. While it is possible to recover from either of these positions, it will be costly. Independent statistics claim up to 90% of businesses that lose data caused by a disruption or disaster are forced to close down within two years.

These computer problems can be avoided with preventative maintenance. The term Computer maintenance has all too often been mis applied by users as being the result of what happens when your computer “breaks” or fails. Computer Maintenance is really about taking steps to make sure you never get to “Panic” mode. It doesnt have to be expensive. Companies like ePRO, LLC can make arrangements with you to come to your home or office and physically clean your computer once per year by vacuuming the dust and debris than can choke off the air supply to the internal components of your computer. Companies like
ePRO, LLC
can also arrange to remotely monitor the condition of your computer and offer plans to “peek” at your computers health status once a month. Computer Maintenance plans come is a wide range of options that can be a s simple as a site visit once per year to make sure everything is running properly, to all encompassing monthly remote monitoring.

Even though computer maintenance options plans might add a few dollars to the operating costs of your computer, it is far less expensive to proactively maintain your computer than the type of reactive repair costs you will need to deal with in the event of a catastrophic failure. Bad Block At Beginning Of Inode Table May Cause Data Loss In Linux

Tagged Under : , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Are you unable to mount your Linux hard drive volume? Are you facing superblock, inode, or file system corruption like error messages while booting your Linux system? Such situations are caused by corruption of Linux hard drive metadata structures. This behavior of Linux operating system renders all your significant data inaccessible and leads to significant data loss. In order to get your mission-critical data recovered, you should opt for Linux Data Recovery solutions through reliable tools.

In a practical scenario, you may encounter the below error messages after copying your data through ddrescue command-line tool and running e2fsck utility:

“Superblock has a bad ext3 journal (inode 8).
Clear? Yes”

Or

“/dev/sdf was not cleanly unmounted, check forced.
Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes
Pass 2: Checking directory structure
Missing ‘..’ in directory inode 1785876.
Fix? Yes

Pass 3: Checking directory connectivity
Root inode is not a directory; aborting.
e2fsck: aborted
fsck.ext2 /dev/sdf failed (status 0×8). Run manually.”

After the above error message, you can not access your precious data from the hard drive. In order to get your lost data back, and to sort out these errors, you should perform Data Recovery Linux.

Resolution

The problem is caused by bad block at the starting of inode table. You can fix the problem by reconstructing root inode. It is quite easy to reconstruct the root inode, however the problem is that root inode needs to be placed at fixed location and currently a bad block is located there.

Forcing the hard drive to use spare block from its pool is possible, however a bad block is often an indicator of the beginning of hard drive crash. Thus, replacing the affected hard drive with new one is the safest way to recover from this situation. Use ‘dd’ command to copy data from old hard drive to new one. Then run e2fsck to create a new root directory on the new hard drive, and shift all the inodes, respectively.

If the above method does not solve your problem, Linux Recovery applications perform absolute recovery. They use high-end scanning techniques to methodically scan the entire hard drive and get all your precious data recovered. The Linux Data Recovery software come equipped with simple and rich graphical user interface to enable easy recovery.

Stellar Phoenix Linux Data Recovery is the most effective solution for all logical data loss scenarios. The software recovers Ext4, Ext3, Ext2, FAT12, FAT16, and FAT32 file system volumes. It is compatible with all major distributions of Linux operating system such as Red Hat, Debian, Fedora, SUSE, and Ubuntu.
